Workshops are held in Kristy’s new studio located on the property where she lives with her partner, Christian Burchard, just 7 minutes from downtown Ashland, Oregon. Kristy began holding classes in fiber arts in 2010, before she was creating her own artistic works. Over the years, classes have become more specialized with her own teaching as well as with guest instructors from around the world.
The Studio
Completed in the spring of 2025, the studio building is very specially designed for the purposes of felt making, with both wet and dry work having dedicated zones and equipment. The main floor workspace is flooded with natural light and an open design allows for flexibility with workstation layout depending on the days activities. This short blog post reveals a little more of the building origins and process.
