Can I visit your studio?
Yes, clients and interested students are invited to visit by appointment. Send me an email to set something up. I offer private lessons and scheduled workshops with guest instructors. Visit the workshop page for current opportunities.
What is Handmade felt?
Simply put, handmade felt is a dense textile of tangled wool fibers. It is made by rubbing damp, soapy wool until the fibers tangle… of course there is a lot of control and planning in these pieces, but that’s the basic principle. Order one of my vessel kits (sorry out of stock) to give it a try for yourself.
How do i clean felt?
I recommend using a vacuum with a wand attachment to remove dust. Keep the wand at a bit of a distance from the textile so the suction will not grab hold and pull it. If you ever need to spot clean your felt, please email me for specific instructions.
Do you have a studio pet?
Yes!! Tucker and Gordon (both ten year old resuce dogs) keep me company in the studio. They enjoy lounging in the sun, looking over my shoulder when I’m twirling wool in the bathtub, and keeping the ground squirrels in check. There are also two cats that visit occasionally and just a short walk from the studio is our very entertaining family of goats.
